A solemn ceremony of awarding the Eurasian Philosophical Prize was held in St. Petersburg. This was announced by the organizers of the event.
The award was held at the Ninth Russian Philosophical Congress. It brought together almost 1,000 philosophers from 10 countries: Russia, Bulgaria, Serbia, China, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Armenia.
The names of the winners in 10 nominations were kept secret until the last moment. They were announced from the stage in the format of a theatrical show with elements of virtual reality. The project was implemented with the support of the Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives.
The award's Board consisted of 51 scientists. Among them were 30 doctors of sciences and 16 candidates of sciences from 24 universities and scientific institutions in Russia and neighboring countries. The winners were determined by secret ballot.
"There is a turning point in the world today. A new world requires new ideas. Therefore, Russia needs philosophers with their creative ideas and meanings more than ever, who can make Russia a new world leader," said Oleg Matveichev, PhD, Professor at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, the organizer of the award.
Dashi Namdakov, a Russian sculptor and academician of the Russian Academy of Arts, became one of the laureates of the Eurasian Philosophical Prize-2026.
"Quite unexpectedly for me, I found myself in such a respected community. I always like to communicate with philosophers, I read a lot. It's unexpected for me to receive an award like this. Especially when you're doing silent philosophy, it's a great honor for me," he said.
The full list of winners was posted on the award's website. The award program includes two open events. So, on June 19, a master class by philosopher Alexander Sekatsky will be held at the MARS art space, and on June 20, a philosophical battle with the participation of the award winners will be held at St. Petersburg State University.
