Genghis Khan Plateau
Work continues in the Republic of Buryatia on one of the region’s most ambitious cultural and tourism projects — the Genghis Khan Plateau Eco Trail. Set among vast степpe landscapes and dramatic rock formations, the site is taking shape as a unique destination where the natural environment becomes an integral part of the artistic vision.
At the heart of the project will be a series of twelve monumental sculptures by Dashi Namdakov, each dedicated to one of the animals of the Eastern zodiac. Rather than standing as isolated artworks, the sculptures are conceived as elements of the landscape itself. Positioned on hilltops, among rocky outcrops and the natural contours of the terrain, they will engage in a dialogue with the surrounding environment and the history of this remarkable place.
The Genghis Khan Plateau is a site deeply connected with ancient legends and the nomadic culture of Central Asia. According to tradition, one of Genghis Khan’s camps was located here. Today, the plateau is being reimagined as a place where cultural heritage, contemporary art, and the natural landscape come together to create a single, immersive experience.
In addition to the outdoor art installation, the project includes the development of an approximately 4.5-kilometre eco trail, scenic viewing platforms, visitor rest areas, and supporting infrastructure. Together, these elements will transform a walk across the plateau into a journey through the natural and cultural history of Buryatia.
The project is currently under development. In the coming years, the Genghis Khan Plateau is set to become one of Russia’s largest and most significant examples of contemporary art integrated into the natural environment, where Dashi Namdakov’s sculptures will become an organic part of the landscape and a new destination for visitors from across Buryatia and beyond.

Multidisciplinary Tuzhi Art Festival
The Tuzhi Art Festival is conceived as an annual summer event of federal significance, defining the Tuzhi Land Art Park as a new point on the cultural map of the country and a place of international tourist attraction.
Circle of Life promotions
On July 26, 2025, an unusual event combining ecology, art and traditions took place in the Tuzhi Land Art Park in Transbaikalia. Instead of the annual Tuzhi Art art festival, which was canceled due to fires that attacked Transbaikalia in the spring and early summer, the organizers held a Circle of Life campaign to plant 108 trees in the shape of a circle with a diameter of 70 meters.
